about

Janet Casson has been a teacher since long before she was old enough to have a career as one. She has used her skills as an educator to teach drama, music, and yoga to students of all ages. Her vinyasa classes are accessible and challenging, playful and insightful, smart and exploratory. It is her aim to explore yoga, both physically and philosophically, in a way that resonates and is therefore relevant for every student.
Vinyasa yoga is my kind of practice…right now, anyway. I am a big believer in the idea that, just as our bodies change throughout our lives, so must the way we relate to them. What works for our bodies at one point in our lives, may not be the one and only way always. Perhaps, if we are closely in tune with our body’s needs, we will discover it wants to move in different ways every day. Vinyasa one day, Iyengar the next, Anusara the third, maybe a nice, long run the fourth, and an even nicer, longer nap on the fifth!
Vinyasa-style yoga is a flowing practice that links breath and movement. As my teacher Cyndi Lee says of yoga, “It’s like taking a shower from the inside out.” It warms and cleanses the body and the mind and offers an opportunity to start fresh as you step off your mat and on to the next moment of vivacious living!
